we work directly with clients to help them live their best lives. Whether it’s helping them save for retirement, send their kids to college, or something else, I know that I’m making a difference.

“I wanted to get a job where I feel I’m actually helping people,” says Mario E. Brassini about his decision to join The Curran Group, LLC. Having interned at the firm as a teenager in high school, and later while in college at Villanova, the Engineering grad made a conscious choice to pursue a career at our firm. Given his strong academic performance and a natural talent for systems thinking, Mario E. knows he could have had his choice of jobs. He even considered database manager and data analyst roles that would have correlated strongly to his major.

Ultimately, it was the ability to help others that guided him back to The Curran Group. Mario believes he wouldn’t have the same level of impact in a technology position or within a larger business. “Here, we’re a smaller company where we work directly with clients to help them live their best lives,” he says. “Whether it’s helping them save for retirement, send their kids to college, or something else, I know that I’m making a difference.”

Over the years, Mario has provided critical back-office support as a summer intern, including optimizing and implementing a client database and reviewing internal workflows. As an Operations Specialist, he will be expanding on those and similar projects. Mario E. will run monthly reports, prepare the team for client reviews, stay on top of systems and processes, and provide organizational support to free up advisor time for interaction with clients. He will, of course, also act as the resident technical expert.

All of this is foundational to his longer-term goal, which is to learn everything he can to eventually step into a leadership role in the operations of the firm, following in the footsteps of his father, Chief Operating Officer, Mario J. Brassini. He knows that this will take time and effort, but he looks forward to the challenge.

It is through his father, also, that Mario E. comes to his knowledge about personal finance. “Even before we interned at The Curran Group, my brother and I learned a lot about money from our dad,” he says. “He talked to us about money from a young age, about everything from investments to insurance, and we were able to open our own accounts then.” This certainly left an impression on him about the importance of starting to save early and regularly.

Outside of work, Mario E. enjoys fencing, basketball, and soccer, a sport he has enjoyed since childhood. He also loves to read. True to his New York roots, he supports all the New York sports franchises, and as a Villanova graduate, he cheers for the Wildcats basketball team.
