Scott T. Curran

CFP®
Planning Specialist

Scott T. Curran joined The Curran Group in 2020, following his father, Scott, and younger brother, Ryan, into the family’s boutique financial practice. He brings significant financial services experience to the firm.

While in college, Scott T. interned at a large national investment firm and at a leading financial technology firm. After graduating from Villanova University with degrees in Finance and Management Information Systems, Scott T. worked for eMoney Advisor.  During his time there, he had close access to advisors throughout the country. It was a unique learning opportunity. “I finally gained insight into my dad’s business, because while I was growing up I never really talked much to him about what he did,” he admits.

At eMoney Advisor, the financial technology innovator known for its sophisticated financial planning platform, Scott T. rotated through a series of roles, at each step learning more about the business of providing financial advice. Starting out in customer service, he grew into a training role, and eventually functioned as part of the sales team where he optimized the product experience for prospective clients. “I developed a real sense for what financial advisors do, and I understand how streamlining their daily processes can help them better support their clients’ goals,” says Scott T. He also discovered that he was good at listening to people, analyzing their needs and helping them implement solutions.

Scott T. looks forward to working with The Curran Group team and the firm’s clients in this smaller, more intimate setting of the firm. Once he completes the requisite training and licenses, he will increasingly interface with clients. He is currently studying for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional (CFP®) designation, and will eventually transition to becoming the firm’s investment and planning specialist.

As he settles into the rhythm of the team, Scott T. will be assisting in an operational capacity, while supporting the financial planning function. The team will benefit from his organizational skills, analytic ability and attention to detail, as well as his experience working with the firm’s Wealth Management System. The only thing that remains to be sorted out is how to refer to two “Scotts” in the same office!

In his free time, Scott T. enjoys music and sports.
